Would be nice if you dump that NASTY POP-UP. My registry does not need any cleaning

Well, I don't speak Dutch but I sense your frustration in not being able to select an alternate language for the generated text. To see if there was something that could easily be done for you, I just opened the WeatherLink.exe file in a resource editor. While the translation would be fairly simple for someone of your command of the language, a full translation would be difficult. Some of the text needs to fit existing screen dialog boxes, and there's no easy way from a simple examination to figure out which messages you could safely replace with longer words. Plus, it's possible some of the text is internally required as a part of an interface, meaning if you translated the wrong texts you could alter the function of your program. Anyway, there are roughly 1500 words and/or phrases in the string table. Translating all of those would be a huge undertaking, and as I mentioned possibly risky. To cut it down to a manageable and quite safe level, you could edit only those words, phrases and letters that actually appear on your web page. Translating the BarTrend data, for example, would require editing only five phrases. In theory it's possible. If you have Microsoft Visual Studio (or one of the other developer toolkits) you may already have a resource editor you can use. A quick Google for "resource editor" turned up www.thefreecountry.com/programming/resourceeditors.shtml which contained a large list of free resource editors. If you're willing to put in a bit of effort learning how, you could impress your friends and family with a nice Dutch-only page without having to apologize for the American English.

Here is a very nice looking resource editor called Resource Hacker. www.angusj.com/resourcehacker/It looks like it was made exactly for doing translations, including altering dialog boxes and input forms to do a full job of translating a whole application! You could just do the web page output (barometric trends and directional ordinals becoming N-O-Z-W instead of N-E-S-W), or you could translate the whole application if you wanted. Plus, it's free. Can't go wrong at that price! My suggestion is if you want to just change the web output, go ahead and do it for yourself. But if you want the whole application translated, contact Davis. Some companies appreciate user contributions, and some are even willing to give you a bargain in some way if you do some work for them. It doesn't hurt to ask.
