noticed that Weatherlink IP is supposed to send all the data to Weather Underground and APRS.. it doesn't send the rain data. Or at least lately. the data appears on their Weatherlink www.weatherlink.com but checking the data, the rain value seems to be missing. I wrote them and informed that they need to check their database and what is being sent.

got this from Davis.. DUH???
Because of limitations in the current console and data available in the loop packet, we are not able to send wind gust and one and 24 hour rain data to either CWOP or Weather Underground. There is a strong intention to fix this, but it is going to take fairly significant changes in the WeatherLinkIP and/or console firmware to give full support so it is likely going to be some time before we do have a solution. There is an additional problem at Weather Underground where when hourly rainfall is not sent, they report it as -99.99 in/hour (instead of --), but Weather Underground is aware of this problem and presumably working on it.

This is why I switched to Weather Display with upload to WeatherUnderground. WeatherLink does not do any justice to the VantagePro product line. I can only conclude that Davis is ignorent to what the world of weather enthousiast are looking for. It's about time they team up with WeatherDisplay and support a package the user is looking for instead of just sending an IP data logger to the software developer and "sort it out yourself". The performance of weatherlink is saying just as much about the Co's attitude towards their end users.

I gotta read this board more....
Look up on the member list on WeatherDisplay Forum.. for Aardvark.. and you will see I use WD. have for many years.
I ended up with a 64 bit machine and problems with the USB drivers. I would run WD and have multiple computer freezing.. I think it is the USB drivers or that there might be some 16 bit software in with WD. However...
The problem I have right now , it seems that the IP logger doesn't share the polling of its logger with WD right now.
One of them burned out and of course Davis didn't track it or at least letting me know why it burned out. I am guessing a faulty one.
However..I have converted my site to work with Wlink while at the same time I am keeping WD on and off. Running two weather programs with Weatherlink downloading data from the Davis site that the logger is uploading and having WD access the logger directly.
I have asked for the same for WD, to be able to download from the Davis site and bypass the logger, but that hasn't happened yet. It probably is on the big list of things to do.. I guess figuring out how to do it is the tough part.
But, yes, WD has the best software out there.. no question.. the problem for me is this computer and the logger.
