Hi I am a 6th grade teacher and I found an unopened Weather Monitor II Weather Station the back of our storage closet. I need advice on how to set it up and which software I can use to create a web based weather forecasting center for my students. I would appreciate any help or advice.

The first piece of software you will need to put the data on a computer and utimately the web will be the Weather Monitor II version of WeatherLink: davisnet.com/weather/products/weather_product.asp?pnum=07862It includes the data logger to connect to the station which intern acts as an interface to a computer. Once the data is on the computer being displayed in the WeatherLink software, it then has the capability to generate webpages, upload graphs, etc. Also with the data logger installed you can then if you so desire use various third party software that is available. Virtual Weather Station, and Weather Display just to name the more popular two. www.ambientweather.com/virtualstation.htmlwww.weather-display.com/index.php

I would probably just stay with WeatherLink at least at first until you see what all it can do. Thats what I did for a couple of years. With the NOAA reports and graphs it can produce, it may suit your needs fine in itself. Of the two links I posted I'm using VWS. VWS has a neater somewhat easier setup and operation then Weather Display. On the other hand Weather display has additional features that VWS does not. Most if not all third party software has a trial period or demo version. Best just to try them one at a time and see which one seems most intuitive for you to operate.
