Some sort of power failure caused me to loose internet connection and damage some software. Weatherlink 5.7.1 no longer finds my USB com port. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling the SILabs com port. Tried folloing the instruction in the Weatherlink software but am unable to get my software to communicate with the console.
Does anyone have a guide that can help me fix this. It was working for 3 years without a hitch, now will not!
please and thank you.

Did you try it on more than one USB port?
Several years ago after a close lightning strike I had similar issues with my serial port. Come to find out my problem was two fold. My serial port was dead (even though Windows said it was OK) but I found a second serial port had survived. Also I had to do a full power down and restart of the Davis VP and data logger to get it talking to the computer again.
At the time I had a camera which used a serial connection. Using it for troubleshooting I found it would work on only one serial port, WeatherLink would not work on either port. That's what clued me in that I actually had two problems.

No I thought of that and have tried it on multiple USB ports and even hubs. The console shows it's working at 19200 baud. But I can't install the drivers. They do not install the device into Device Manger Universal Serial Bus Controllers. the CPoX something or other. The SILabs files are installed into Programs directory, but not the serial bus controller.
I've uninstalled and reinstalled a number of times with no luck.
