I have been told that you have to be the Admin to run Weatherlink on a (Intel) Mac. Having to become an administrator to run a general application is a significant security problem waiting to happen. Using a Mac as an Admin is like running a Unix/Linux system as root. That is an extremely BAD idea. In addition, I have found no other Mac applications that require administrative privileges to run. Why is it necessary to make the software only run-able as the system administrator? Is it possible to make the software run-able by a non-administrative user? If so, how?
