My WeatherLink software "hangs up" or stops sending data to the server for the CWOP program. When it does this, I have to do a ctrl/alt/delete and shut the program down and then restart it. I cannot shut it down simply by clicking on it. Has anyone else experienced this or have any ideas what may be causing it? Thanks

Try changing the APRS upload server to: cwop1.tamu.edu (instead of cwop.aprs.net) (or the rotate one). This worked for us.
If you have a Davis Weather Monitor II, I found WeatherLink 5.8.3 works far better.
We upload every 5 minutes for each of WU, CWOP, and WBug at staggered times. WBug is on the 00 and cannot be changed.

Thanks, I will try that. I have a Vantage Pro 2 and not sure if that makes a difference.

With the newer station model, you should be fine with the newest version of WeaterLink. Changing the APRS upload server to: cwop1.tamu.edu solved the hangup problem for us.

Thank you both. I hadn't changed it until today. It started working fine, but in the past 24 hours it has been very choppy (you can see...my station is DW6606). Just changed it to the one you both recommended. I'll report back after a day or so when I see how it is doing. Thanks again.

Now I am really stumped. I changed the server and it transmitted nothing. Went back to the original one, nothing. Uninstalled my WeatherLink and reinstalled it, still nothing. Reading I see that Davis said WeatherLink has a "bug" and you have to trick it into sending the data. Do I need to enter anything on the internet connections screed in the FTP Host box? I tried putting that server in, and still nothing. I'm really stumped now. Would appreciate any thoughts.

I've finally got it back up and running. I'll see how long it goes before it starts hanging up.

Not enough details are given as to the configuration of WeatherLink. I had experienced similar hangs with the Mac version. The uploads worked well for 10 to 15 hours but then a transfer operation would hang and I would have to forcibly stop or reboot. In my case, I suspected the problem was related to conflicts in 1) the way the COM driver was setup (I probably have a unique situation here) and/or 2) how the upload profiles were configured. Attending to these parameters successfully resolved my problem. For reference, see my post on "How To Network Enable Your Davis..."

I'm using the older 2004 WU expansion module, because the newer 2007 one will not hang up the dial-up connection. It seems I have to enable the newer module to somehow assign the correct WU url before I can run the older WU module. Has anyone else had this problem? Is there someway to change the upload url in either the APRS or WU modules manually in the old module?
