Includes these features/fixes: The Vantage Vue weather station is supported in this software version. Fixes USB driver dropout issue. If a dropout is detected the driver is reloaded and a remark is added to the log file. “Expansion_Modules” folder will now be created automatically regardless of whether you have installed any expansion modules. Wind Direction calibration can now be done via software. Informational dialog boxes are suppressed when WeatherLink is minimized; if a screen saver has been activated or if the Bulletin, Strip charts and Plot, are running. Added the ability to set the units that the console displays as well as what the software displays. “Readme.wri” has been converted to “Readme.rtf” file. Web download Password may contain special characters. These characters include: “!”, “*”, “\”, “(“, “)”, “;”, “@”, “&”, “=”, “+”, “$”,”,”, “/”, “?”, “%”, “#”, “[“, “]”. Web download time out has been lengthened from 30 seconds to 60 seconds. “Show indoor data only” mode is available for any Vantage console. This mode mimics the software interface for a Perception weather station and includes EMC and Air Density. Upon entering the “Set Transceiver” screen, the software will check for model mismatch between hardware and software configuration. Right clicking in the Bulletin now opens the Summary screen. Now stations that are stored outside the WeatherLink directory can be renamed Fixed the bug that causes the software, when using a dial-up modem connection, to dial the modem when you exit the software. Fixed a bug that displayed, in the Sunrise/Sunset report, 60 minutes instead of the following hour. E.g. 5:60a will now read 6:00a Wind Run nautical mile unit now displays as “n mi” instead of “knots”. Available for download at davisnet.com/support/weather/software_sftwr.asp

I just installed this version last night and now it no longer creates the web pages at all. I've tried just about everything I can think of but it will not even create local files for some reason.
Also... Anyone tested this under Windows 7 yet???
Thanks, Lee

I haven't tested it on Windows 7, but have had the same problem of web pages not being created, or uploaded if they are created.

Davis has a 5.9.1 Beta that may help that. You can find some details here: www.wxforum.net/index.php?topic=5413.0Also if your running VirtualVP changes made in the internal coding of WeatherLink is creating some compatability issues as well. The author of VirtualVP is hard at work putting together a new version to solve that plus workout any new issues that might arise with the Davis Vantage Vue weather station line.

Interestingly, I'm having no issues with Virtual VP. I'm also finding that WeatherLink 5.9 is doing updates of web pages, but it is using settings from some previous version that I can't even find - it isn't from 5.8 or 5.7.1, both of which still reside on the computer.
At least Davis makes nice hardware...

As of this morning, the Davis link to the beta version 5.9.1 is dead.

I have tried installing Weatherlink 5.9 and it installs ok but when I try to run it, I get an error CLR error 80004005. Anyone else experience this? Does anyone have a solution?

I've not had the error but after doing some Googling it looks like the error is typically associated with a .NET Framework issue. Might want to see if you have all the available Windows updates for that or try removing and reinstalling them.

Hi Folks, I have the new Vantage Vue with the 5.9 weather link on usb port, It runs on my server which has windows 2000 pro installed. I run this along side of my Weather Wizard III on a serial port. The wizard III uses weather link 5.7.1 and runs flawlessly, the Vantage Vue doesn't do so well. It shows errors better then 50% of the time, Will not upload every 15 minutes like it is supposed to, and is just a plain mess transferring files. I did update to the new 5.9.1 version and can tell you this. It uploads almost perfectly with the new version, about 90% success on everything. However, if you have the Vantage Bulletin open at the time up upload, it will give me a pop up stating the usb is no longer working and to disconnect and reconnect the usb cord to the station. If the vantage bulletin is closed, it works great... I switched back to the 5.9 version as it was the least of the problems, I can at least see the station on the screen. I'm really disappointed so far with this new setup, the station works nice, but the software sux.. Any ideas or help would be greatly appreciated, so far, Davis hasn't even responded to my issues.. I have tried running this solo and on other machines with the same results. Any ideas???

FIXED !!!!!!!! Yup, unbelievable, Thanx to suggestions from Rob in support @ RainmanWeather.com and a bit of luck, I have found a combination that has the " Vue" working as well as the Wizard. > Here's what happened, I took his suggestion and fired up 5.9.1 again, > Then I converted the port from USB to Serial. Same bad results.... So I > thought maybe the wizard might be interfering with the Vue's operation, I > shut down the wizard, No HELP !!!! Then I thought about this a bit and > looked at the setup of the wizard... Com port 1, 2400 baud, 1 minute, > Hmmmm, still 2400 baud from the days of dial up... I changed the baud rate > of the wizard to 19200, and it started throwing errors also, ah ha, so I > changed it back to 2400 and all was well, Ha It couldn't be this easy, > Soooo I changed the baud rate of the Vue to 2400 and sure enough it > started to work, but couldn't seem to get the job done so I kept > increasing until it stumbled. Bingo..... 14400 baud rate and it works very > well on 5.9.0... Changed to 5.9.1 nope, still disconnects, back to > 5.9.0... All is well.... Can't explain it, don't understand it, but it > works.... So, There you have it, > Changed to version 5.9.1 > Changed port from usb to virtual serial > changed baud rate to 14400 > changed back to 5.9.0 > All is well with the world for about 15 hours now, in 15 hours it failed > to upload about 8 times on 15 minute intervals according to the logs.. > That works for me!!! > Thank you so much for all your help, and ideas > hopefully this fix works for others also... > 5.9.1 just doesn't work if the vantage screen is opened, if it is closed > it works well also... Larry ;D
