 Exporting and importing data
« Thread Started on Aug 27, 2007, 9:58am »

Currently my weather station (Davis Vantage Pro2) does not function properly so I have quiet a lot of missing data which are stored as zeros in the database as well as erroneous measurements. Now I want to change these zeros and erroneous data by the missing value indicator (---). Doing this within WeatherLink is very troublesome as you can edit only one record/field at a time. I thought about exporting the database to a text-file and importing this file into a spreadsheet for the edit work and after that export the data as a *.txt or *.csv file. However, WeatherLink does support import of ASCII files. Does anybody know if there is a program available which converts data text-files to *.wlk files or something similar?

Might check this program out and see if it will do what you need:

Hi, I wrote the little app posted above and I just uploaded an update last night that fixes some errors people were getting with the bulk insert wizard. If you have any problems with the imports just let me know.

Ah, there you are. I downloaded and tried your program and it seems that it might do the work. However, the importing ended due to errors. Do you prefer to continue our conversation by this site or directly by email?

All right, in looking at the code I would think that the dates should be working. Do you know what errors you are getting? Just let me know and I will try to fix them.

The errors have hopefully been fixed and uploaded to the website. There was a problem with the Evapo-Transparation not importing correctly, but it has now been fixed.
